I suggest you look in the smaller towns and regions like Whangarei, Hawkes Bay, Wanganui, Manawatu & Wairarapa, also the south island - Nelson, Timaru and and Invercargill. Stay away from the 6 main university cities. (Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston Nth, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin).

You have a much higher chance of getting a job outside of the main centres as long as the work permit is legal.
