I am not from Ohio but I wish you the best of luck.

Gather up as many character references as you are able, including your parole officer, counselor, your neighbors, previous employers, your supervisor in prison, anyone who can say something in your favor.

Then, seek work from a place where a supervisor or the owner or manager knows someone that you know. You aren't asking your friend to do you a favor and get his friend to give you a job, you are offering a prospective employer a link between you and him. An employer will know you are more likely to be an outstanding employee if there is a mutual person involved.

As far as job leads go, try the big warehouse stores, they pride themselves on giving an opportunity to everyone. I am talking Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Home Depot, etc.,

It may not be your dream job, and you may have huge skills that could get you a big paycheck otherwise, but even if you start out in the cargo bay of one of these places, it is a huge corporation and you will have plenty of opportunity to climb the ladder. And, you will have all the benefits that a smaller employer could not give you, like health insurance and retirement and all the rest.

Good luck guy.
