Anyone know a way to work in Scotland as a US citizen? We Answered:
The government is completely incompetent about getting rid of illegal immigrants. The sheer numbers here are unbelievable. I doubt anyone would notice you.Becky Said:
I am plannin 2 move 2 scotland in search 4 a job in IT,where in scotland and what should I expect? We Answered:
Why go to Scotland in search of work if you are not a Scot? They will not look favourably upon you, degree or no degree. Better you try France or Belgium.Delores Said:
Can I rent a flat in Glasgow before getting a job?We Answered:
I'm sure it won't be a problem if you rent a flat before you have a job. You will have a very long time waiting on a council flat as there are huge waiting lists. You will get a flat much quicker by renting privately, although you may be required to pay a months rent in advance and possibly a security deposit also, so you will have to work out if you can afford it. Another option is to flat/house share which may work out a better option for you until you get employment. Check out this link for more info - http://glasgow.gumtree.com/ Good luck and hope you find somewhere suitable!Lena Said:
can you please tell me is there a company name sidor oil and gas company from scotland as i got a job offer? We Answered:
If you weren't flown to the UK for an interview, the job doesn't exist. No UK company would ever hire anyone through email. There is no Sidor Oil company in Scotland. The company doesn't exist in the UK
If you've been asked to contact anyone but the Home Office or British Embassy about visa processing, you are being scammed. Fake oil company job scams are very common. You are asked to pay fees to process a visa for a job that doesn't exist.

Where can I find a summer job in Scotland? We Answered:
Bryanna, what nationality are you? Have you looked into whether or not you need a work permit before you arrive here, because if you are not a citizen of the European Economic Area, or cannot get the Ancestry visa you will not be able to work here legally without the work permit...The rules and regulations can be found here...

If you are not a citizen of the EEA and are intending to stay here for a few months then you will have to prove to our immigration that you have the funds to support yourself whilst you are here. It's not a problem if you are a citizen as you can just turn up and find a place to live and a job.
However, if you are eligible to come here to work then you could try the job centre plus as the majority of jobs are advertised there...
