Ben Said:

frustrating job hunt?

We Answered:

You did not say if you live in the same area. Presuming you do, then hit the streets. Go door to door and start looking. Try the banks, utilities, everywhere you can.

You will not be overqualified as you will have to be trained to do the job. Start out as an entry level position then work your way up. After you get a job, start a career plan. Then follow the plan.

If you do not work in the area, you may have to wait until you are there to find a job.

Yes, it will be difficult. But once you get a job, it will be easier on you because you will have an income to supplement your real goal, to find a job in your profession.

How to look for a job?

Join civic clubs, ask around, find a church (the denomination that you are affiliated with) and ask them if they know of somebody that is hiring entry level.

Check your college and see if they have a career placement center. Get the names of companies that have interviewed there in the past.

Check restaurants, drug store chains, box stores. Any of them would love to have you in there.

Psychiatrist in the east Seattle (Redmond or Bellevue) area?

We Answered:

Google psychiatrists in the seattle area and you can find them there, all lined up and waiting for you to call. I did it, but for some reason, it won't let me post the link on here.

Relocating to seattle. Need advice where to temporary stay for job/apartment hunt for a small budjet?

We Answered:

I was in a similar situation last August. Check out the Mediterranean Inn, near Seattle Center. Though on the expensive side, Mediterranean Inn's got rooms with kitchenettes for $119/night, $735/weekly, and about $1500/month, according to their website. The rooms aren't necessarily luxurious, but they serve their purpose, and cost less than a lot of options in the same area. Plus, it's in a convenient, safe location. The company that owns the Med Inn apparently owns several other similar places in other locations in Seattle (website: http://www.innapts.com/ ) but not having stayed in any of the others, I really can't comment. I also know several people who stayed at the Inn at Queen Anne, also near Seattle Center and with kitchenettes, who liked it (website: http://www.innatqueenanne.com/default.as…

Other advice? If possible, try to avoid parking downtown. Rates are often exorbitant. If you need to get anywhere during rush hour, leave yourself plenty of extra time--traffic can be pretty extreme, especially on I-5 and on Denny Way, among others.

I am a recent college graduate and in search of job opportunities near Puyallup, WA.?

We Answered:

I suggest that you can chat with HR managers or recruiters directly, which will enlarge you chance to get hired. I would like to recommend you a networking jobsite--jobirn.com. It is basically a job board while it has functions of social network. You can chat with HR managers or recruiters directly just via the chat box of the site. Moreover, you can conduct video interview if you like. You can even add other members to "My Contacts" list and establish your social network for career. I hope you can find yourself the ideal job. Good luck!

What is the best neighborhood to live in Seattle?

We Answered:

Wallingford, Fremont, Greenlake, Laurelhurst, Wedgewood, Maple Leaf, Ballard, Ravenna, and Montlake are a couple desirable neighborhoods nearby. Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Phinney Ridge, Central District, and Madrona are popular residential neighborhoods in general. If you're interested in the condo lifestyle overpriced options abound in all neighborhoods. Good Luck with your search. If you are renting search the net there are tons of resources, I used craigslist.org, but then again you have to sort through the rip-offs on a sight like that

Mario Said:

Relocating to seattle. Need advice where to temporary & cheap lodging for job/apartment hunt?

We Answered:

One option to consider is a vacation rental apartment or condo. You'll probably spend roughly half of what you'd pay for a hotel room, plus you'll have your own laundry facility for keeping your business attire clean and a fully equipped kitchen, so you don't have to eat out every night (which can get expensive). The drawback would be that you might not be in the heart of Seattle and will therefore need a car to get around.

There are several options available to you:

1. This cottage is a bit removed from the city, but it's priced right (the ad says $79/night, $550/week). http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/…

2. This condo is right in the heart of Seattle, but the price is still reasonable (not even close to the $200/night cost of a hotel room). http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/…

3. This studio in West Seattle is reasonably priced and has a special charm. http://www.vrbo.com/57376

4. This apartment on 12th Ave. E is in a good location and offers some excellent amenities. http://www.vrbo.com/141222

Full disclosure: I do work for HomeAway, but I receive no commission from these renters. Keep in mind that any prices listed are based on what's listed in their individual ads and are subject to change. I've included some links below for further research, should you be interested.
