Job Search Sites

Stacey Said:

How do Job search sites make money?

We Answered:

Many or most job search sites charge companies to post jobs and another charge to search resumes.
They charge based upon the features the companies want. Typically job postings 3-5 per month for a year is approx $5000 to $6000 US Dollars with some resume searching thrown in. This is for the bigger boards. However, even the regional boards tend to charge that much.

Neil Said:

Does anyone know any good job search sites?

We Answered:

Check with your state employment office. California has an on-line. Don't know about others.

Check in with your local county, city, and non-profit websites and register to be notified of any up-coming positions.

You could check with your college. Sometimes there are job placement offices there that could help you land that first job.

As entry level, you will have to move fast to get a job that is advertised. There will be so much competition and many times it is a matter of "first come/first served" attitude.

My daughter checks with Craig's list, but I am not sure that is really productive.
