Earning money in Sydney while pregnant?

We Answered:

You can work for a call centre company taking calls coming in or calling out requesting donations for good causes from the public. They advertise from time to time. Keep you eye out in the Sydney Morning Herald and apply.

You have to be clearly spoken, polite even when the answer is being abusive, and not take long for each call. You will be seated for the duration of your working day. You shouldn't mention you baby. they will find out soon enough.

For God sake don't get sucked into some call centre business where you work from home and have to pay money up front. When I suggested a call centre I suggested working for a wage for someone else.

there is also sewing and cooking. A lot of people a loath to cook anything for themselves today and can't mend a hole in their clothes. You could make some spare cash doing this if you are able.

Good Luck!!!

Recent college graduate moving to Sydney and in need of advice of all kinds!?

We Answered:

Sydney is a big city with over 3 000 000 people in it. They usually get their stuff from the same place as you would in Albany or Buffalo NY, they go to the shops and buy it. You get hair driers etc from a department store, your groceries and toiletries from a supermarket (unbelievable), there are trains at the train stations, buses at the bus stops. Melbourne is much the same, (like London or Cleavland or Toronto or any other city) Seen one city, seen them all, basically? What are you expecting exactly? Kangaroos riding crocodiles down the main street? As for which city is best-this is a hotly contested issue down there. Sydney- the weather is nicer and there's some amazing stuff within a days drive. Melbourne is a bit wetter and colder in winter and hotter and drier in summer, but people who enjoy the theater and arts seem to prefer Melbourne. They're much of a muchness I reckon. Move to Queensland!

Is B.Com (Correspondence) accepted in Australia for persons who seek job there?

We Answered:

As long it is from a reputable university it should be acceptable, unless by correspondence you mean a dodgy "buy a degree online" fake university.

Fred Said:

Moving to Sydney - job in McMahons Point - where should I live?

We Answered:

McMahons Point near North Sydney is quite a hip location in itself, on the Water with plenty of restaurants and pubs. If you choose to stay nearby within walking distance to work, you might end up saving a fair bit on commuting - money you could put into upgrading your accommodation.

You should be able to get a smallish unit for that much in North Sydney for around $300 p/w. Search within 'Lower North Shore' when you look up realestate.com.au or domain.com.au.

Crows Nest is another nice area with buzzing nightlife, not far from your work and easy access to the City.

But if you are looking for house with a yard, you'll need to fork out at least $500 - $600 p/w. You could try Lane Cove which isnt too far, but is more family oriented and bit more affordable.

Good luck, and congratulations on the new job.
