Jobs Search Engines
Anthony Said:
what job search engines seem to work. I have tried monster, hot jobs and careerbuilder but they only have crap?We Answered:
In my opinion, Hotjobs is a waste of time. Careerbuilder works best for me out of the three, but what I find easiest to do is to apply directly on companies' websites, I have had better success finding a job that way.Lois Said:
Are job search engines such as monster.com or careerbuilder.com the best way to find jobs?We Answered:
Take advantage of all search engine options. They are the primary source of opportunities. Make sure your resume is sharp. Get it professionally done. And make sure your resume is not private on these search engines. Employers will shop through the public resumes. Networking is an important tool when seeking a position. Since you are just graduating you don't have a lot of people to draw from but your family may know someone in your field who knows of positions you might be just right for. Do you have friends in college who know people in your field they could introduce you to? Networking is about using friends, family, co-workers, or previous employers to get ins into your career choice. You can also be pro-active and go direct to a business. Find out who the person in charge of hiring your particular position is ahead of time and send a cover letter and resume to them. There just might be a position available or coming up. Jobs are tough right now with many people applying so don't get discouraged.Dwayne Said:
What search engines offer jobs specializing in audio engineering? We Answered:
I am an electronics engineer and I design products for the professional audio industry and I found my current job at www.monster.com.It is a generic site but as far as I know there is no specific site for audio engineers. When I look in the back of the trade magazines, there are few ads for audio engineers.
Here in LA, the demand is way down as many bands are now recording at home or in a warehouse and doing their mix downs on a Mac.The amount of studio time to cut an album has dropped big time.
If you mean design of audio systems, there is still work for consultants to design sound systems. But the number of construction projects needing sound system designers is way down right now.
Good luck.

has anyone ever had any luck finding jobs using job search engines? We Answered:
Now that i think about it... Not at all. lol I had more luck by just going to the local job fairs or finding out about jobs through word of mouth.(friends, relatives, networking)
