Darren Said:

Does this job sound like a fraud?

We Answered:

In practice many companies have alternate offices in differen locations and many also use a separate agency for hiring. For this reason I'd say its probablky legit. On the other hand, anytime you set up a meetin goff of Craig's List I woudl exercise caution to ensure things are as they seem. Maybe call over to the store to confirm lcoation and directions - ask for this person Alley as well. That should give you the confidence you need.

Has anyone heard of Madison Brown?

We Answered:

I assume you are in/around the Hull area?
The website you are after is: http://www.mbrecruit.com/

Their name actually is spelt with a double d ('Maddison Brown Consultancy') so I guess that's why Google didn't show them up.

Good luck with your job hunt :)

WTDY Madison Afternoons: Are Prebil and Murph being fired? Why the job opening?

We Answered:

Prebil and Murph are NOT being fired they are leaving on their own volition. They are taking a new gig at KSTP in the Twin Cities and doing a very similar show to the Wisconsin guys.

Good neighborhoods in Madison?

We Answered:

As always, it depends on what lifestyle you are looking for. Here are some things to consider:

1. The University and the state government are the big gorillas in town. The capitol and much of the government is located on the isthmus between Lakes Mendota and Monona. The U is west of the capitol. So housing in the Central core tends to be older and more expensive, primarily driven by student demand. But this is also the urban chic area of town.
2. Since Verona is southwest of Madison and the lakes form a traffic funnel, stay away from the northeast. Traffic will be frustrating and it is a less desirable area.
3. You don't need to go too far out of town to reach bucolic farmland. Most of the growth and newer construction is to the south and west. Middleton (west), Elver Park/University Ridge (southwest) and Fitchburg (south) have seen significant growth, and are very clean and safe. With the improvements to Hwy 18/151, Verona itself has become a reasonable commute to Madison, yet has retained its sense of community and small town charm.
4. Many people tend to keep a distance from the Beltline itself (Hwy 14/12) as this tends to be higher density and the sketchier areas of the southwest.

Check out the website below for apartments, and look in areas 3, 4, and 6. Good luck.
