Best route to commute manchester to liverpool? We Answered:
The biggest problem is your intended journey between two big cities on congested roads. Depending on the time of day has great bearing on the time taken as you will hit traffic at both ends if you travel at peak times. The minimum time would be about 55 minutes off peak to almost 2 hours each way at peak traffic. If you have 'Sky' television have a look at Channel 'M' (203) - (I can't vouch for the so called music content from Real Radio) in the mornings as they show all the Motorway traffic cameras in & around Manchester & judge for yourself. From experience, the bottlenecks are from the A556 (M56 J7 ) towards the airport, The Barton Bridge Flyover ( M60 ) Worseley J.12 to 13 where the M62, 60 & 602 merge, then onto the East Lancs Road (A580). Going out towards the M6 at Lymm you tend to get holdups on the Thelwall Viaduct ( Warrington ) then as you split left at Birchwood onto the M62 towards Scouseland. Then at the top of the M57 (Aintree). If at all possible - & I dont usually suggest this - go by train - saves the stress of driving!! Have a look on Google Maps UK put in the start & finish points & 'drag' the suggested route onto various roads & decide which is the best.Franklin Said:
how do you get in the film/ tv bussiness? We Answered:
There are many ways my friend but, very few pay off.If you want to be an extra there are many agencies around but, be prepared to pay an agency fee. Then you may not get a call for ages so you may feel ripped off for a while,if your'e really commited, hang in there.
Also you could apply to be a runner(lots of big name stars start this way) for either local radio or tv. Work yourself up that way. its a long slog so be prepared to be patient.
Another way in which is what im doing is being a casual stage hand at the local theatre, you make a lot of contacts this way and it opens doors for you.

Politics type courses at university...?We Answered:
I'm a Politics and History student from Manchester but I go to Uni of Nottingham. I also worked full-time for an MP for nearly a year before going to university.Politics courses are generally very popular and do tend to be heavily oversubscribed. In terms of course contents, most undergraduate programmes include three areas: comparative politics; international relations and political philosophy. If you did A-level politics then a lot of this will be fairly new to you, especially the more theoretical elements - learning about Realism, Liberalism, Marxism etc.
Manchester is a brilliant city and if I hadn't lived here all my life then I would have chosen it to go to university. However, the university does have some bad points. Compared to somewhere like Nottingham, the campus is extremely ugly. Also, they do try to cram in as many students as possible. I have heard from someone who used to work at the university that first-year politics undergraduates received next to no face-to-face contact with staff as many lectures were conducted via video link. A lot of uni departments do have typical timetables posted on there website so search around.
In general, degrees do not tend to be vocational - i.e. you could get a degree in maths but go on to work in politics - so it's mainly a case of going for the degree you're most interested in. Again, there is a lot of competition for jobs within politics and journalism so it's important to gain work experience at every opportunity. Of course, it also depends what you mean by 'politics' as a whole range of jobs will involve some political aspects.
Finally, make sure you go to open days and try to find out as much as possible from the staff you get to meet.
