Bill Said:

I got an email from "Citadel Holdings & Consultant Inc", is it a scam?

We Answered:

There are many similar scams out there. No legitimate company would email a stranger to offer them a job, and no legitimate company would use homeworkers to process payments. How the scam works is that they will ask you to cash or deposit these fraudulent checks or money orders using your personal bank account and then transfer the funds to them. So you send them the money, and eventually the checks bounce and you are held accountable for cashing bad checks. Do not give any information to your company and do not respond to any solicitations like this that you may receive.

Anyone else smell a scam?

We Answered:

Here's a no-brainer answer: It's definitely an outright scam. Don't give them your personal information at all costs. Just get the message spammed straight into oblivion right away and forget about the whole thing.

How's living in Canada? mainly Quebec?

We Answered:

Do you speak French? Quebec is very French, but many do speak English depending on the area you go to.

Quebec City has a very low crime rate, as does Montreal. Montreal's murder rate, for example, is 15 so far this year. Both are great places. Not too expensive to live here, but taxes are high. Montreal is more multicultural than Quebec City.

American plugs can be used here, it's the same system.

As for warm temperatures....well.....it gets COLD. A winter's day with a temp of -40 Celcius with the wind is not uncommon. On average, though, it's about -10 C from mid-Dec to about mid-March. Last year was exceptional where the cold started in mid-November. We also get TONS of snow.

Have fun, and good luck!

Is this work at home job a scam?

We Answered:

Yes, it is a definite scam.

The work is to receive checks ( which will be forgeries or stolen ), and deposit them into your account, then send checks out to them or their friends.

When the forgeries are discovered, the bank will come after you to make good, and will also press charges against you for fraudulent check cashing.

Of course, the checks you sent out fro your account will be cashed quickly and your account will be drained before the bank finds out the checks you deposited are forgeries.

You would be very wise to listen to the advice on this forum and avoid this thing.
