Hey i feel for ya, I was there once. The only problem is there aren't many jobs for 13/14 year olds. You need to be 15 years old for summer camps and lifeguards and 16 for restraunt jobs. Even though you can't get a job there are some other jobs you can do. Here are a list of jobs:

Try babysitting. Put up a flyer at your local church or go around your neighborhood and tell people you want to babysit. Babysit for a couple of hours and you can get paid between 20-40 dollars for just 4 hours.

Lawn Mowing is another one. I mow lawns for 5 of my neighbors and I get 20 dollars from each of them.

Snow shoveling. Sure spring is coming and snow is melting but March is supposedly the most snowiest months during winter. There is still a chance of getting snow so if it happens get out there and get shoveling!

Also check your local library or if your city offers classes to take check around and see if they have jobs to do for your age.

When your parents say you have to work for it do they mean pay for it or do they just want you to show you are responsible enough? Sit down and talk to your parents to make sure. Make a game plan and tell them you will do more chores or do volunteer work. Make a list of all the reasons why you need a cell phone and how it would benefit you and your parents. Maybe get a tracfone or prepaid phone to start off.
