Ramona Said:
How can a former educator get a job in the nonprofit sector? We Answered:
Theoretically, your idea is sound. However, there is a lot of very specific information and skills needed to work in many nonprofit careers, and "soft skills" like good communication and motivational skills, while helpful if you have the necessary background, won't really cut it if it is all you have to offer. For example, fundraising often involves a great deal of time researching and writing proposals for grants, and if you don't know how, and haven't got a demonstrable history of doing so successfully, you really are not qualified for the job, although if you can get your foot in the door as an entry-level fundraiser or grantwriter, you can gain necessary experience eventually. What you need to do is figure out what it is you ultimately want to do for a career at a nonprofit or corporation, and focus on the necessary skills/education needed to do that job successfully. You could also consider volunteering at a nonprofit, so you can get a better idea of the way they run, and what the staff at such organizations really do.Darren Said:
What is a good job description for a well-established nonprofit's search for a "Development Officer"?We Answered:
Your best bet is to go to any or all of the major job search sites, like hotjobs or monster, and enter in the keyword search 'development' or 'fundraising'. When you get the list of open positions, you will be able to review many examples of applicable descriptions and what other organizations are looking for in a development officer. so that you can pick and choose from them to develop a positon description that works for you.Michele Said:
Degreed/Paralegal certification. What stones have I left unturned in job search? We Answered:
Have you thought about clerking somewhere? You can clerk as a paralegal (kind of like how law students "clerk" during school) but you obviously won't be paid as much as a paralegal witih experience is paid. You should also see if you can find a firm that's willing to train you - sometimes you may need to start as a secretary / paralegal trainee (and not get paid as much as someone with experience) but at least you'll get the experience.

What is the best way to get a job in marketing/advertising/editing?We Answered:
Dear Monica,You can get a hob in marketing/advertising/editing by getting some work experience. And would be possible to join a good Multinational group if you have good hands on Marketing and Branding...
For this purpose you have to do internships in Advertisement companies..If you cannot afford to work for free then you can do two things...One is that you should join the advertising firm with a low stipend and get experience from there.Or you should Join companies specialized in branding..
And Blogging is also one of the side business you can do without investment
