Oil And Gas Job Search

Theodore Said:

searching 4 job overseas experience 20yrs in eng'g,particularly oil & gas pliz help how to start.?

We Answered:

You're searching for a job overseas as an engineer, and you abbreviate engineer and please? Really? I guess without knowing where you are starting from to go overseas to, I wouldn't be able to help.

Tyler Said:

I have received a job offer from an oil and gas company in nigeria.they responded my replies.is it a scam?

We Answered:

What are the question? If they ask for personal information, such as birth date, bank account numbers, especially social securtiy number, it pretty much guaranteed to be a scam. Who contacted who first. Did you reply to an ad to work for them or did they just contact you out of the blue? If they contacted you first it's guaranteed to be a scam. They could want money from you to process the paper work or something. Even if you don't pay them, they use your identity to pull some other scam. I'd stay far away from this if I were you.

Carolyn Said:

How do i know which is a good job site?

We Answered:

It depends on what kind of job you are looking for. If you are only interested in employment in your area, then you need to be looking at the websites for your local newspapers. Usually, only local employers advertise in the newspapers. Also, you should use the website www.indeed.com. You will see two data input fields at the top of the opening page. You just fill in the kind of job yo are looking for and in the other field you can either type in the town where you live or its zipcode. The website will list practically every job in that zipcode (or nearby zipcodes).

If you do not care where the job is that your are applying for, then you should use careerbuilder.com or monster.com.

Good luck!

I heard Afghanistan is hiring...

Joel Said:

What would be good companies in the oil and gas industry for a soon to be MBA graduate to apply at?

We Answered:

Any of them. Phillips Petroleum is Oklahoma based, so you might start there. If you know someone in management at an oil company or if you know someone who knows someone, you might start there since your resume will be read sooner than if you just send it to HR.
