Part Time Jobs Bristol

Jeffery Said:

Bristol West Insurance charged me for two months even though i sent a cancellation letter, what do i do?

We Answered:

Bristol West is a terrible company. You ask your bank to reverse the charge.

Then you file a complaint with the Department of Insurance.

Hector Said:

houses for rent that accept dss/housing benefits? bristol?

We Answered:

Not many private landlords will go for DSS applicants. You do get Housing Associations who give priority to certain individuals with certain circumstances, Lone Parents, Disabilities etc.

Who confirmed you would be eligible for Housing Benefit? It's not possible to rule it in or out without knowing the property you're moving to or the rent you're paying.. Also I don't think they've really considered your circumstances. Depending on the age of your Boyfriend you might well qualify for very little as Couples under 18 have low 'applicable amounts' which is essentially the backbone to all calculations.

An Applicable Amount is a figure the government has decided someone in your circumstance needs for personal expenses (Food, Clothing etc), which in the case of 2 under 18's is £78.30 per week. Any income in excess of that base figure goes towards reducing your entitlement.

Your Applicable Amount increases with Disabilities and of course the number of Dependants you have. Thus the appeal to putting on limps and pushing out children I guess, but who am I to judge?!

Make very sure you and your partner know what you're doing though, I see people make rushed decisions on a whim only to be turned down for one reason or another and basically left with very little.

Helen Said:

I'm 16 and am leaving school this summer. Anyone have any ideas where I can get a summer job?

We Answered:

Any work you do and earn money is a Job.
Your options are limited. Most businesses want you to be 16 to hire you for gainful employment.

Time to be inventive,
My suggestions to you:

Make up fliers and pass them around in your neighborhood.

Offer to do whatever work it is you want to do, such as :

Computer work, Babysit, Clean Garages, Organize Cupboards, File Papers, Wash Cars, Mow Lawns, Pull Weeds, Tutor the neighbors kids, wash Dogs, Dog sit, Clean the Pool, Assist the elderly, whatever...

Post first whatever it is you want to do or are good at ...
However, You should keep your options open and make a decision after the persons call you instead of not giving them many reasons to call.

Your neighbors who might hire you do not have to be residents, they might be local businesses that need a little job done. Do not be afraid to ask and apply. You won't get a job if you don't try.

Stacey Said:

Job for a 14 year old?

We Answered:

not sure if this will be classed as sexist, sorry if people get upset, but if you are a girl, then my neice who was the same age started doing avon, she makes ok money, and it only takes a few hours a week, but it will depend on the area you are in and if safe, but you could sell to your friends at school too. Good Luck and well done for trying to get employment.

Dana Said:

Where can i find a job? Im 17, from Bristol England.?

We Answered:

Go and visit some of the Agencies on Park Street and around the Centre.

Also go into the Bristol City Council Job Shop on College Green and see what they currently have on offer - just stay well away from the Social Services Vacancies, as that is a horrible Department (experience talking here).
