Even when allowed by law, a lot of companies don't hire 14 year olds. So you may have difficulty finding work. Being a caddy at a golf course is a job that's usually available to younger people.

You probably need a work permit from your school. Go to the school's office and ask how to obtain one. They should also be able to answer your other questions. Ask them if your school has a work study program or if they know which employers are willing to hire 14 year olds.

You can also try to hire yourself out for things like lawn mowing and landscaping, baby sitting, dog walking, and pet care.

If this is your first job, they are always hiring at Tim Horton's, Wendy's or McDonald's. If you stay with them for 6 mos to a year and more, it is good to put on your resume because the training is a good foundation for your future.
