I would say that if you're highly specialized in a profession and using the usual networking sites to get your resume out there, be patient. Other than that, long distance job-hunting is useless with this economy and especially for out-of -staters. You're chances get better if you live in Florida and show your face to prospective employer's. But even then, fair warning, the job market truly sucks, unless you want to be a waitress. Seems like you may have to stick with the larger cities where there might be more openings. West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale area should probably be included on your list.

Easter Seals is a well know Human Service agency. They have services to everyone with a disability and even senior citizen services.

Just tell them its the best decision to make at this time. Although being a chauffeur to your mom is admirable, its not very productive to your career. What good was that education without the chance to pursue a real career? Just know that in time, they will understand.
