Advantages Of Work Experience

Carrie Said:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having work experience?

We Answered:

Having work experience makes an individual more qualified for more jobs. Generally, the more experience a person has, the more they are worth. On the other hand, it is cheaper to employ someone who does not have work experience. Some companies prefer to hire someone without experience so they can pay them less and so they can train them to do exactly what they want. Individuals who have work experience usually have a certain way of doing things and some employers prefer to train employees from scratch.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting some work experience before going to college?

We Answered:

Advantages: You can get some money to help pay for your education; you can firm up why you're going to college in the first place (to get a better job, etc.); it shows initiative to the admissions people; it helps you grow up a bit, so you don't waste time with unimportant things like drinking when you're in college.

Disadvantages: Too often, people like seeing that money come in and never want to give it up to go to college; on some campuses, you might feel out of place being surrounded by "youngsters" when you've matured in the working world; you'll be older when you finally get out.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of work experience?

We Answered:

At my school we had 2 weeks of work experience....

Advantages: got to find out what it was like working eg: hours, doing as i was told, independence etc. Helped me choose my career!
Disadvantages: some people choose ones they thought would be easy so they wouldnt have to do anything!

Suitable employers:
Should have public liability insurance, be 'official' establishements, if childcare needs to be OFSTED registered.
It should be safe!
Should be checked by a member of the school first to check suitability.
Our choices were things like preschools primary schools, haridressers, shops, workshops, plumbers etc.

What should I expect from work experience at a primary school?

We Answered:

Hiya,
I did work experience last year in a primary school, what I did was listen to the children read, help put up posters in the classroom and when the kids were set work to do I went around and helped them out. In your interview, they'll just ask general things like why do you want to go here for work ex, what are your plans for the future, what are you expectations ect.
Finally, advantages: the kids are really friendly and kind, i felt really happy while I was there - always smiling.
Disadvantages: I felt so tired at the end of the day! because your putting your heart and soul in to the kids i felt drained loool!

I enjoyed it lots and its confirmed for me what I want to do, i hope it goes well for you. :)

what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting some work experience before going to college?

We Answered:

It is better to get some work expierience before going to college as you will have a Experience Letter in Hand that will let you placement quick as posiible. but the major disadvantage of this is that people after working they have their own world of living. you will be addicted to money hence you will never ever learn after doing work. your focus will be on money always. hence it is my recmendation is to Learn first, then after the learning period your entire life is deddicated to earn earn earn thats all........
