Apply For Work Experience

Lonnie Said:

What would look good on a letter to apply for work experience to a primary school?

We Answered:

Love the new hat Mary.

No, you don't need your JC results, they're not relevant. If you were applying for a teaching job you would put down the results of your degree/HDip, but that's all. For a TY placement, you can put in a brief summary of your results (5 honours, 4 pass etc) but what is probably more impressive is any work experience or informal babysitting experience that you may have done, or involvement in clubs/youth groups etc. They want to see that you are mature and can be trusted around children.

Are there any good places to apply for work experience in Edinburgh relating to fashion or journalism?

Good to see you have ambition, unlike the majority of people living in edinburgh who are happy to live in Government handouts.

Jessica Said:

How can I apply for work experience with a letter and/or phone call?

We Answered:

Phone: My name is * and I am looking to do some work experience. I am interested in developing a career in * and was wondering if you could give me the opportunity to gain some experience in this area with your company / organisation.

A letter should be worded in a similar way. But don't worry about getting it absolutely right, most people are listening for the gist of what you are saying, not how you are saying it.

Good luck in your chosen career hun!

How do you apply for work experience without going through the school program?

We Answered:

go to the place and ask them!!
or you could phone them and ask them about it, your school should have given you a form or something for them to fill in, so take that with you and go speak to someone who works there!

Willie Said:

Is my job as a waiter help with the work experience to apply for a job as a bakery?

We Answered:

Yes it will! Even if your job at a bakery does not involve waiting tables, you still have a lot of relevant experience. For example, you work in the food industry, you have good customer service skills, and so forth.

Your experience will definitely help you land a job in a bakery. Good luck!
