Ring your nearest barracks, and just ask them that's the only way to know for sure. I've heard of it happening in the past. If your in the Dublin area watch out for those 2nd battalion lads!

It's a a great idea to have your W.E. to do with your future career and this will give you a great advantage if you joined the army! Experience is what they normally look for. I would also suggest that you start training already (one of my mates wanted to join the army but she's not British but she wants to be a police officer instead) .

I don't know what you'd do for WE in the army, but it might be a fun thing! You'll probably just help out and stuff? Ah I'm sorry I can't be much of a help with that one. =( I think they'll require you to wear a uniform? But don't worry they will give you the details and stuff when it's all set. Good luck!

Contact your local barracks and they will advise you...............What do you think, that you go up to Collins' Barracks, they kit you out and allow you to run around the Curragh with a gun??

The Army dont do one but i think the RAF has a 1 week work experience.

For my work experience i said that i wanted to go with the RAF but i couldn't be bothered really so i went to iceland lol.

You stay there for 1 week, ask your teacher she/he should know about it and will arrange it for you.

work experience youll get to look around, but you wont stay there overnight I wouldnt have thought, you'd be a 'liability' in fact im pretty sure youll have an 'escorted pass' meaning you wont actually get to wonder off on your own.

Doubt you will experince anything more than the fitness side (as in they shouldnt ask you to participate in the 'mock ups') you may get to observe, have a neb around and generally get to work out.

But then I could tell you about work experince in the navy...
