Bank Work Experience

Norma Said:

What do you need to to work for a bank, qulifications, and work experience?

We Answered:

I worked in a bank straight from school with just GCSE's, even ended up being an advisor for a while with no extra qualifications.

So no, unless things have changed. It would depend on the position you were applying for of course.

I have great work experience w/ an i-bank, 690 on GMAT.Can I get into Stanford & HBS or should i retake GMATs?

We Answered:

690 is not bad, but if you think retaking it will help you to increase your score, by all means retake it!

April Said:

anyone know any bank in dublin, ireland which provide work experience?

We Answered:

I worked in NIB for my transition year work experience. My advice to you is to do what I did all those years ago. Write a letter to the Human Resources Department at the Head Office of all the major banks and building societies. Try your local Credit Union. They might have something for you to do and there seems to be less red tape involved with them. Go to speak to the manager in person. Explain what you need from them and what you can offer to them for the time you are working there.
Best of luck.

How do i get work experience at any bank in London?

We Answered:

Do you know anyone who works in a bank ? If so ask them if they can help.
Get your parents to speak to their Bank Manager.
Failing that write to the HR department in the national banks. Tell them what you are studying and how/why you want to work in a bank when you leave school. Treat it like a formal job application.
All the "best" work experience jobs go to family and friends first so start writing and chasing today.
