There are three routes. I'll list them in order of best to worst.

First, go to the local Union of the trade in which you'd like to be trained. Be persistent. The first jobs will go the sons of the guys who are already union members. It ain't fair, but that's the way it is.

Second, look for a local trade school. Learn a trade. Be a welder, carpenter, plumber, etc. NOT a laborer.

Third, start hanging around construction sites and offer to clean up, etc. This is by far the worst way to get a job, but it's the quickest. And they'll expect you to work like a wildcat and keep your mouth shut.

No matter what job you get hired onto, do what you are told, even when it doesn't make sense. They are looking to make you quit from the get go, see. It's their way of weeding out the dead weight. They'll ask you to do ALL of the rotten work before even giving you a chance at anything else, see.

Look into any newspaper, under the employment section, you will see ads for Green Cards. You have to do this short course and obtain this card before you can work on a construction site. It costs about $100. Once you have this card, you can then apply for construction labour jobs. If you are unemployed, and registered with a job network, you can speak to the Job Placement Officer. That's what they are there for.There are also alot of Apprenticeships and Traineeships on offer, if you are thinking of a career move and looking at 5 years from now. Good luck.

Do you mean the Gulf in southern USA, or are you talking about the Persian Gulf? Vizag is in India, so I will assume you are looking for a CE job there.

You can try monsterindia.com, india.recruit.net, and www.india.com/jobs/india/civil+engineer - all those have a huge amount of listings for civil engineering jobs in India.

I guess you can. They are always looking for temporary labor jobs in Oahu. However, you need to take into account having your saving handy for the time spent looking for a decent job in Oahu. Living in Hawaii is very expensive, and money can disappear real quickly ... I mean, for the basic necessities such us food/shelter/etc.

I'd suggest you do some research on fine dining establishments or hotels in Oahu to get started. If you can get yourself a job, hence get situated, you can move on to something else once you get settled on the island. And of course, on to surfing.

Write to me when you are available. As a Vet, and a Construction and Remodeling company owner, here in NY I'll extend you an immediate invite. I don't care of you are M/F, White, Black, Asian, Hispanic or purple polka dotted. Truth is, we got a real UN going on here, and I like it.

All you need to do is be ready to learn and start at the bottom like everyone else here did. Even if you sweep for a few weeks.

My men (and 2 women, 21 of us all including myself (OK not a huge company, but a real one)) are ALWAYS glad to teach and work with another honorable individual.
