First off I would make sure to use Spell Check and not use run-on sentences.

I did that years ago and I had no experience in the field whatsoever, but my letter got me an interview.
I focused on what I believed the employer would want in an applicant/employee. By that I mean I asked questions like "Are you tired of graduates having experience but no common sense? I spoke about work ethics because that's my strong suite. What can you bring to the table that's not on your resume'? Don't make it too long.

Tell them a bit about yourself, what school or college you go to, tell them your likes and hobbies,

tell them why you want to work with animals, is it that you want to help them and find animals interesting and your thinking about becoming a vet in the future

tell them why you have chosen to write to them, ie you have heard they are a very good vets and you feel you could learn alot from them
