Fashion Magazine Work Experience
Richard Said:
work experience in a fashion magazine? We Answered:
First, really work on grammar and capitalization. Have a couple others proof the letter for you before you send it out. I graduated from college almost 20 years ago and I still prefer to have people proof things for me. Second, I'd limit my "ask" from the magazine. Tell them you want to learn and make sure they realize this is free. Anything that will cost them money will almost certainly be a "no." Use words like "eager," "education," "enthusiastic" and "potential." I'm not familiar with fashion magazines, but I'd just pick some you like and research them. Write letters to all three (three times the chances, right?). And before you write the letter, make sure you read through two or three issues so that you can write the letters out of a knowledge about your specific targets and not just a hope. You probably have an uphill battle, but you sound like you really want this, so don't let anything stand in your way. Best of luck!
