If you just graduated with a B.S. in Human Geography with no work experience what would be the next step.?

We Answered:

What it is possible to do with a Geography degree?
You will have three broad choices:

* To use the knowledge you have gained in a career directly related to Geography. A first degree in Geography is an entry point to many careers around the world, such as town and transport planning, chartered surveying, land and water management, environmental consultancy, development, tourism, conservation, demography, housing and social welfare. Further training at Masters level may be desirable or essential for entry to some of these careers.
* To use the wide range of skills you have learned in a more generalist career. Many Geographers choose careers in information technology, administration and management, the financial sector, and marketing. In all these areas, the skills portfolio, together with an interest in the world and people about you, are highly relevant.
* To engage in further full-time specialist study and training in order to develop a career in teaching or research, or to gain advanced technical (masters level) qualifications for entry into some professions.

what shall i do for my year 10 work experience?

We Answered:

If you are good at the subjects you listed, you might try tutoring younger students since you like working with children. Babysitting is also a good way to make money. If you are trusted, parents will be fighting over you. ;-)

Leadership is valuable when you are applying to colleges. If you have been a successful babysitter and/or tutor, you can explain that you ran a successful babysitting service for your neighbors and friends and had many repeat customers. (It shows entrepreneurship, resourcefulness, organization, trustworthiness, and more.) It also shows leadership because you have been successful in your endeavor.

If you need volunteer hours, you might consider tutoring for middle school. I'm sure there is an organization in your school that helps provide tutors for younger students. Interact, Key Club, Math or Foreign language clubs, etc.
