As long as you graduate from an ABA accredited law school, you can take the bar in any and every state in the US. Law schools almost entirely teach federal law, with maybe a little inconsequential state law sprinkled here and there.

The only time the geography of your law school matters is in terms of finding a job. Graduating from "local" schools (like state or city law schools that don't have nation-wide prestige) can cause difficulty if you're trying to get a job outside the geographical area of your school. For example, Cleveland-Marshall places very well in the Cleveland area, but not much further out. On the other hand, Univ of Michigan, though a state school, has a national reputation, and so grads are able to get hired throughout the country. I'm not saying you can't get hired outside the little area of a local school like Cleveland, it can just be more difficult. Graduate at the top of your class from a local school, however, and you'll be hireable anywhere in the country. I'd wager that top 10% class rank, and law review from Cleveland Marshall will place as well in the big firms in New York as bottom 20%, no journal experience from U Mich.

Why not approach some firms of accountants yourself to see if they have an opening. You might have to start out as a bookkeeper but I'm sure with your qualifications you will succeed. Remember, everyone has to start somewhere, you will gain experience as you go along. I know it's always hard to get your first on that first rung of the ladder, but don't give up. It will happen. Perhaps you might also think of putting cards in local shop windows advertising yourself as a bookkeeper where you could do bookkeeping at home for small companies. I remember many years ago I built up quite a good little business doing this.
