Work Experience, interior design..?

We Answered:

What do you mean for a week? Work for a week? No one will hire you. Try searching interiordesignjobs.com I think you might want to look for small firms to work for. Why have you been in school for ten years? Interior design BA is only 3 to 4 years and MA is 2 to 3 years. What are you interested in doing? Hospitality, residential, commercial, health care, retail, sales, historical preservation?

Joy Said:

Could you offer me some work experience in design, decoration, interiors etc???...I'm based in Somerset?

We Answered:

How wonderful that you are looking to gain experience and have taken action to do so. A suggestion, though I am not certain where Somerset is exactly, perhaps you can contact your local chapter of the ASID or other interior design professional membership organizations in your country and tell them you are seeking experience. Often, they will know of designers or industry partners that have opportunities available for internships. Good luck.

Interior Design Work Experience?

We Answered:

Hi. I'm an interior Designer and i also had the same dilemna after i graduated. But the thing is, there's a company whose hiring for furniture designer and i got in. Got some experience and I quit. Now i'm looking for a job that's purely ID.

My point, have you applied only to jobs that narrows down Interior Design? Or maybe you could branch out more...say like what I did.

Secondly, there are companies who do hire fresh graduates but that depends on your location. If your city is too limitted maybe you'd like to consider moving? If you're willing...

Don't do volunteer work..Interior Design job is not easy at all! LOL

Thirdly, Try applying for those jobs that require 2 years exerience and indicate it in your letter that you're willing to be trained. Some companies do consider this.

Fourth, apply online jobs. There's like Thousands in there.

Fifth, don't lose hope :)
