My best advice to you is to talk to your advisor. I teach at a local college and have businesses and various agencies contact me all the time asking for students for various things. If you express your interests to your advisor, maybe they can set you in the right direction and help you get an opportunity. If not, does your school have an office of student life or something like that? They generally can also give out information on businesses or agencies looking for students.

I applaud you for seeking out these types of opportunities. I did it also as an undergrad and am glad I did. It opened the door for a lot of things.

You could always apply online, but 95% of online applications simply never get looked at. Your best bet would be to network like crazy. Meet as many people in the field you want to go into as you can, and just maybe, one might be able to help you get a job abroad or out of state, somehow. It will be an uphill battle, but is certainly possible. Good luck!
