All I can say is Good Luck! I was doing exactly this a year ago, I nearly had a place but it fell through. I ended up spending 2 weeks with "Lord of the Rings" in London, which was amazing! There's not much else on that scale.

What the companies seem to worry about is insurance. Get all the facts about how your uni covers your insurance, and then send out letters to every name you can find, asking for a few weeks and mentioning the insurance is covered by your uni.

It depends on the training programme or course you are on, but I would say they are usually on for about 6 weeks.

I'm going on my work placement but it's 3 hours walk away, can i get my school to cover the costs?

We Answered:

I don't know. When I did my work experience last November, we had to use public transport which we were issued passes for for the week we were out (just buses, not trains). Don't know anyone who got a taxi!

My placement was the other side of the city from me so I had to get 3 buses... no taxi's for me. Took me about 1 hr 30 mins on buses :-(

I had a student last year from a local school (uk) and he did school hours, contact your school co-ordinater and ask, there is no way you should be working at 6am!
