I have been unemployed for a few months and I have not found the job centre website to be very good, they gave me one last week that had just come on there site and when I applied 1 hour later I was told the job was filled last week. Do not waste your time going to the job centre if you are only going once or twice a week as the jobs are gone by then, you have to check out the job centre website on the internet from home 2 or 3 times a day, I prefer the other job sites and apply for around 4 jobs per day and I hear nothing from most of them. In the past 6 months I have had 5 interviews and 2 I am waiting on the outcome, I have a list of qualifications and 30 years work experience. Good Luck

Ask your job centre to double check things (or ask the Citizens Advice Bureau - you'll be waiting hours potentially though, but at least you don't risk the Jobcentre making stupid assumptions and stopping your JSA - you know how ******-up in the head "advisors" are - one of my mates works as one, went to work drunk, twice, and still works there), but:

It used to be the case that you could earn up to an extra £10 and it wouldn't be taken from your JSA (anything else would be taken). I don't know if it still is, but I think there is still a tiny amount

Don't do fraud - there's a chance you'll get caught. I know someone who risked it ONCE to get a bit of extra cash - but at that time it was cash in hand (you get paid the same day - google Labour Ready) and there wasn't as many checks as there are now.

Seems the only thing you can realistically do is do the work and HOPE it leads to a full time job.
