Duane Said:

I am having trouble looking for work experience, any ideas?

We Answered:

Just go upto the employer (teacher, doctor's surgery etc) and ask politely if you can please do some work experience here because you are very interested in 'this specific' field of work...
Doesn't your school have this database thing like ours where there are many available workplacements which are pre-arraged by the school? That's how most students in our school get assigned to placements.

OR

If you have a family friend who is an employer and you have an interest in working there, ask them to arrange it as it will be more easier and you'll get a better review/award etc!!!

Juanita Said:

Where is a good place for me to start looking in work experience?

Clifford Said:

ideas to meet new people? female mid 20's uk. Unemployed (but looking). Work experience/Volunteering ideas?

We Answered:

I used to work at an education centre and we would need volunteers to help out in the classrooms with English, Maths, IT or supported courses for people with learning or physical disabilities. You could try your local centres or colleges.

If you like animals there's the RSCPA, Dogs Trust or Cats Protection, places like that always need an extra pair of hands.

What about volunteering with somewhere like the St John Ambulance?

Or if you'd like some retail experience to help you find a job what about working in a charity shop?

If you look at the webpages or organisations and charities which interest you then they often let you know how to become a volunteer.

Mae Said:

What would be good work experience for me? I'm looking for a career in law, thanks!?

We Answered:

If you're interested in Employment Law you could ask at a HR department in any company as its all about legislation really. You could try the legal ombudsman or any local solicitors. There may be an issue with confidentiality though but you won;t know if its possible if you don't ask - good luck!!
