Magazine Work Experience

Tanya Said:

How do you get work experience with sugar magazine?

We Answered:

The publisher of this magazine is Hachette Fillipachi

They are here: http://www.hf-uk.com/index.htm?page=Gene…

Send them an email or something in the post I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help.

As for your CV, everyone loves ambition. Don't be scared to big yourself up. If you're stuck for words ask a close friend to describe you and work from that!

Good luck =]

Andrea Said:

teen/ fashion magazine work experience what sort of jobs are there?

We Answered:

That's exactly what i want to do, i looked up about it and there is lots of different types of jobs. There is the main editor who overlooks the whole magazine and then there is specific groups. I noticed there is fashion editor, features editor, beauty editor, designer, picture editor, sub-editor, editorial assistant etc. and the list goes on really. Next time you buy a magazine look at the front or back pages of the magazine and there will be a list of different jobs. Then, you can research them and find out more about them, such as the wage, hours, qualities. Hope this has helped you! :)

George Said:

For Work Experience i need a Fashion or Lifestyle magazine publishing work experience, anyone can help?

We Answered:

I'm presuming you're able to work in London? If so why not write a letter explaining your needs and hopes, and that you'll be happy to work whatever hour they need , doing whatever jobs need doing, including being a gopher! Do lots of copies and send them to every magazine you can see on the high street. Look at the free mags too. In my city now there are several 'lifestyle' mags, giving advice on where to eat, good bars, fashion, housing, gigs etc. You need to be persistant, but it can be done. They're always looking for people who'll work just for the experience. If you're lucky you might get travel expenses, but don't expect anything. A friends daughter did the same thing a few years ago and ended up with a placement at Central TV, and another on a Manchester magazine, a bit like Time Out. You could email them too, and phone, but be prepared for lots of knock backs.

How to get work experience in a fashion magazine?

We Answered:

Go to the magazine's publishing company's website and it should say something about work experience, and it will give you directions on how to contact them for it.

Or just go directly to their website and email them regarding work experience.

You'll have to plan well in advance as they are very busy and many people want to do work experience at magazines.

Good luck.
