Did your wife get this student visa direct from the New Zealand Embassy in your home country? If she did not, are you sure that it is genuine?? A student visa does not normally allow anyone else to be included and I do not believe a dependent partner would be allowed to enter New Zealand under the student visa of the spouse.

Partners who wish to accompany a student normally need to obtain either a visitors visa or a work visa prior to entering New Zealand. Although such a visa cross refers to the student visa it is separate and independent. If you intend to work here you have to obtain your own work visa.

Added to this, in order for your wife to have been granted a student visa, she will have had to show that she can support herself while she is here. If dependents were allowed, then she would have had to show she could support you both.

This all sounds very dodgy to me - I hope you haven't been conned. Regrettably, there a number of fake immigration agents out there taking money for fake visas.
