Midwifery Work Experience

Rhonda Said:

Work experience!!!!!?

We Answered:

Contact a local midwife and ask if she needs any assistance. That would be the fastest, easiest way to get some relevant experience and see whether the job truly appeals to you.

Good luck!

Work Experience?

We Answered:

If you find no one to hire you offer to work for one month for free and if they like your work to then hire you at the normal starting wage for someone with no work experience. Many places will take you up on this offer.?

Kevin Said:

what work experience for midwifery?

We Answered:

It all depends on what your end goal is. If you want to become certified, or licensed, there are professional programs and classes you must attend. A lay-midwife can learn through apprenticeship. A nurse-midwife is a nurse practitioner who specialized in midwifery. I would suggest figuring out what your end goal is, and then finding someone who's already met that goal and asking them about their process, your options, even ask if you can job shadow for a day or two. Midwives tend to be awesome people who are very open about their career choice.

Craig Said:

Is it possible to do work experience in midwifery?

We Answered:

Think of it like this... if you was a woman having a baby, would you want a young person on work experience invading your privacy with no kids of their own or would you want qualified medical staff with expertise? It's probably best to wait until you have relevant training and a bit more life over work experience.

Midwifery work experience?

We Answered:

UK - It is very hard to get into uni for a midwifery degree and the only experience there is will be volunteer work in the local maternity hospital but you will have to be over 18 before you get accepted. You need top grades in school exams and 3 of the subjects must be english, maths and a science subject. Depending where you are is different requirements to get into uni.
