Well when they are asking most of the time if it starts with 30 they're asking for your inseam. Inseam is the length measured from your inner thigh starting at the crotch down to the floor. This is the length of your pants. Sometimes you'll see jeans labeled 28 x 30. The first number is the number of inches around your waste and the second number is your inseam.

I wouldn't bother with a shop as you can easily get part time work in one when you're older. Work experience is a great chance to do something different. If you want customer service experience, it's worth trying a library, you'd be surprised at the variety of tasks we do and it's not at all boring!.

When I was a store manager, I had some work experience kids in my store. They'll probably teach you how to deal with customers and how to sell, how to get the clothes on the shop floor looking perfect, how to deal with stock deliveries, that kind of thing. They might let you on the till, supervised by someone else.
