OTs should be great listeners ("active listening") just as clinical psychologists. They need to have compassion and empathy but also have *good* focus and concentration. Both fields may be emotionally draining ;) Some OTs do work in mental health, but I'm not sure that there are too many jobs available in that area of the field, and as I'm sure that you're aware, the OT doesn't actually do counseling the way that a licensed psychologist would.
