______________
Further to a telephone conversation with your pa I am emailing you to enquire about work experience.

Politics is something I have a great passion for, next year at college I am planning to study Politics, Economics, Philosophy and English Literature, then at university would like to study PPE; Philosophy Politics and Economics.

My reasons for applying for work experience with yourself are simple, but extremely important to myself, I believe that by getting a taste for the world of politics I will have a more realistic idea of what I can expect in the future from a political environment, giving me the motivation to achieve what I really want to do in life, which is ultimately to work in politics. It would me mean a great deal to me if i were given this opportunity.

I am a highly motivated person, and I pride myself on an eager attitude and dedication to learning. I am eager to discover more about politics and the people involved in it.

Yours sincerely Caroline brown (not real name)

You might want to include something about the party the MP is a representative for, along the lines of

" Particularly as a supporter of your party, and a number of issues, a placement would hopefully lead to me developing my political knowledge further.
Or if you don't agree, maybe not :P

Annie Said:

work experience with my mp (member of parliament)?

We Answered:

In the address at the top of the page put: XXX XXX MP (no Mr) but in the Dear... put Mr XXX. Your letter looks good, you don't need to go into much detail because if your MP is in the habit of taking on work experience people then you don't have to sell yourself too much, also he probably won't be reading it, his office manager will be. Really don't stress too much about it just make sure you seem polite and interested.
