Primary School Work experience...taking a lesson?

We Answered:

The teacher isn't obligated to let you teach a lesson. However, in my experience a lot of teachers are happy to let you have a try at it. You may not get to choose what your lesson is about, though. As you are well aware of teachers have strict curriculum they need to follow and goals they need to meet - even for young children.
Maybe if you can find a way to connect Music with something they're currently studying - music and math (eighth notes, quarter notes, whole notes, tempo, beat, etc), music and science (home-made musical instruments, difference in volume pitch), music and literature (writing a poem/song), etc.
The only way to find out is to ask. Just remember that you are still a guest in this classroom so work with the teacher and whatever he/she is willing to give you.
Good luck!
