Depending on how old you are &the availability you have you may have to start somewhere small &low paying. Stores like Sears &Target are constantly hiring and usually only look for a friendly face with the right availability. Being 18 or older also helps since they will be able to schedule you at any time that they please &not break any laws. Don't give up. Keep trying most stores provide training anyway. Good luck.

I am learning the hard way that experience is key. You are lucky that you are in a industry that needs employees even in this recession. Just volunteer in the hospital. Tell them you are a medical assistant student and you want to volunteer, Do not worry about getting a paid internship or something. Volunteer whatever time you can. My sis is becoming a pharmacist and she is going to start volunteering in the hospital. Right now I am applying to the hospital and they all want at least 6 months of full time hospital experience even for business administration type of jobs.
