I understand your feeling. I also had work placement before. When i asked for boss's advice and teaching at work placement, they said they are busy. They expected a student already knew everything before working. When i asked help at college, tutor said i should ask my work placement boss. He said the work placement had no responsibility to provide a person to teach me. I was stuck. I can only learn by observing.

I've heard global volunteering is a good volunteering network. I haven't personally been able to use it but a friend of mine reccomended it to me for future use. They can hook you up with volunteer needs all over the world. Here's the link:
