help with work experience in adelaide? 10pts promisee :DD?

We Answered:

I don't live in Adelaide but i do live in QLD. I tried my best to find some sites that may offer work experience.

http://www.projects-abroad.com.au/projec…

http://brisbane.gumtree.com.au/c-Jobs-ba…

Also i know that you need to make a phone call today make a account on Gumtree.com.au, put in a free ad, stating what you want and all the details, contact number and email address and more than likely you will get a phone.

If your still in high school, go to the work experience place, where they enroll you with tafe and ect.!

Good Luck.

Where are some places I can go for work experience in Adelaide, SA?

We Answered:

Hey,

You could try your local newspaper or even the Advertiser? However it might not be extremely exciting. The work experience kids are generally put in an office and either sit around or do small jobs. However, if you want to go to the advertiser you should apply very early as they most likely only offer several work experience positions a year, and there would no doubt be many candidates applying.

As for science, you could try and get into a research lab? I'd suggest contacting one of the universities to see if they could help you there.

I did my yr 10 work experience 3 years ago with a paediatrician. I was extremely fortunate as he took me around the hospital, into the premature baby's nursery and I got to observe 3 caesareans in the operating theatre. It was an amazing week, i was very lucky, as most of my friends were stuck in an office doing nothing or photo copying.

Goodluck!

Psychological work experience in Northern Adelaide?

We Answered:

I'd reconsider your work experience. If you went with a clinical psychologist (which is assume you mean by psychological work experience) due to patient/doctor confidentiality you wouldn't be allowed in with them and you'd spend your week sitting with the receptionist filing. Three of my friends got stuck in this position during their work experience and it was the most boring week of their life. They did eventually get to talk to the psychologist but only for about 30 minutes over the entire week and they could have organised a 30 minute meeting outside of work experience week and benefited just the same. I went with a pediatrician for my work experience and fortunately was given permission to sit in on some appointments and go into wards and operating theaters. However clinical psychology is different.

A thought just came to me, if you are desperate to have work experience with a clinical psychologist why not contact a hospital and ask them to put you with a doctor (psychologist or even psychiatrist) who works in a psychiatric wards. This will show you one aspect of a psychologists job. Otherwise have work experience with an organisational psychologist, they usually work for businesses in human resources or for government departments (ask your careers counselor). Furthermore you could ask a university to allow you to do work experience with their psychology department.

Anyway, ultimately the best way to find things out about clinical psychology is to sit down with a clinical psychologist and ask them questions or allow them to talk to you about the career. When I was in yr 12 last year I was seriously considering psychology and this (along with talking university psychology lecturers) was very helpful.

Goodluck with work experience!

What do people think of work experience in Adelaide?

We Answered:

yes
many of my friends start catching public transport around 6 or 6:30 am and they don't get home till after 6 at night just travelling to and from school.
Adelaide public transport is very safe but don't do anything you wouldn't do anywhere else and keep an eye on your stuff just in case.
tip: go to www.adelaidemetro.com.au for all bus tram and train timetables its better to have an idea of your trip before you leave including all exchanges from one public transport to the next. also get a student multitrip pack of three before you go. on each multi trip there are ten "rides" on public transport but each "ride" can take place from two hours after you validated your ticket.

edit: ok i just read this and its confusing but you'll understand quickly enough.
