Back when I was in college I tried to get a part time job at the zoo, but they need prior work experience so I be a dog walker, and work at pet shops for 6 months before applying for the position, you can try that too.

The first place to check would be at your advisor's office. If he/she can't help, check with the office of the department that offered the class. One of the most important things you can learn through this is not to be afraid of asking questions to those who are supposed to be guiding you.

Look around, there is sure to be some local veterinary clinics near your area. Or you could try contacting the zoo, a wildlife park, farm or aquarium (like the one in Sydney, with the sharks, exotic fish and seals) perhaps.

*Good on you for looking around during the holidays. Some places require advanced booking. -Like months or a year beforehand.

You should be able to get a job at a groomer. Probably not as a groomer but cleaning around the place. You can walk dogs, babysit animals.You can go into a pet resort, let them know about the course you wil b taking and how you love working with animals and would be happy t join their company. They may have a job for you, possibly a companion for the animals.
