it depends on if the company has US branches or a US head offfice.

US experience is NOT considered superior to Canadian experience.

I'm basically planning on doing the same thing you are, i'm a designer (web and print) with 3 years experience, as above it isn't on the list of needed occupations for a skilled worker but don't be discouraged! there are other ways... I'm planning to apply for sponsorship which means if you have a living close relative living there they can sponsor you so you can live there and work. I'm applying for this through my soon to be wife who is canadian and wants to move back home.

Besides that the skilled worker system is worth looking at, it works on points and depending on your circumstances you might make it but not having your job on the list of ones they want is a big loss.

You could also look at working on a holiday visa which I haven't looked at but it'd get you there to try it out for a year or so!

As mentioned, Canada can be ur best bit. I have put the link to their immigration website, u can go through it. Apply for immigration if u think u are eligble for it and move to live there after ur studies.
