Work Experience Design

Franklin Said:

work experience about design, photography or film :D?

We Answered:

hi, im in a cold wet england... but this may help.

in teh absence of paid work, get yourself a project. (it hones the skills) im sure you have a community newspaper, im also quite sure they scream silently for someone with the skills and enthusiasm who can move their production forwards.

8yrs ago i did exactly that. i sent them an email, saying "you need help. can i see someone?" 8yrs later, im still there. head of the production team, head photographer, and i do all teh page layout and advertising. i still do it for free. (lets face it, the longer you do it, the quicker you can do it)

we goto print every 30 days, and do a 20page community magazine, with a print run of 4000. ok, its not the Times, or the Guardian, but it teaches you to pay attention to details, and you learn, mainly because you have to.

and, its a great platform for your work, and your portfolio. it demonstrates you can manage a project, and hit your dealines and increase sales thru advertising, while maintainig a balance between local news and advertising... and oh yes, it opens doors.

What are some good work experience jobs for graphic design?

We Answered:

In high school I volunteered, and worked at a local Photography Studio. It is in the same field, and I am sure you would find it fun! Just search some local Photography studios in your area and ask if they could use some help.. IT'S A LOT OF FUN!! and in a way could help you see another side to graphic design... and could score you some cash :)

Work experience in Art and Design?

We Answered:

What kind of Art and Design do you want to do? It is a very broad field- interior design, graphic design, web design, user interface design, print advertising? You should choose one of those fields and see if you did work in your school or college that would be applicable? If you haven't done projects already in school, pretend you have a client in that field who has asked you do some work for them and make up a project for them.
