What Is The Best Work Experience To Do If You Want To Be A Doctor?

We Answered:

It's not necessary for you to work as a medical technician to get decent clinical exposure. You can shadow a variety of physicians, volunteer at hospitals/hospices, and just be actively involved in your community.

Victor Said:

What work experience should I take to become a doctor?

We Answered:

Anything that has anything to do with medicine is good obviously.
You may look at becoming a nursing assistant or an EMT, both of those take about a semester. Nursing assistant is easier but I think EMT would be better experience. If you can't do either of those at your age, seeing if you can volunteer at a hospital or nursing home is always good. Even filling up people's water or reading them a book is good for getting used to the environment and learning how to deal with patients.

Also, keep in mind, you may not need training to work in some group homes or assisted living homes. I started doing that when I was 16 without any training, and it's a fantastic opportunity.

how can I proof my work experience as self employee doctor?

We Answered:

THis is something yo should have a lawyer help you with.

If you have worked through a CPA they could also help you.

If you accepted insurance payment s you could show immigration your payment history from the insurance companies

You could provide your own insurance for liability and property/casualty.

Have they asked for your tax returns

Talk to a lawyer

Rhonda Said:

Can you do work experience in a doctor's surgery?

We Answered:

Depends on what you expect to do, but generally they want people trained and with experience. Your best bet is to contact local doctors and see if they can use some help, but that's more likely to be jobs like cleaning up or clerical. You could try volunteering at a hospital, but again, don't expect to be taking care of patients. This is not something trivial and they risk lawsuits if they let untrained people help with patient care beyond bringing meals and fetching magazines.

I am in year 10 and going to start my work experience, i want to be a doctor in the future but i don't no what?

We Answered:

It's a good idea to ask for work experience from a GP, I know a lot of people who wanted to be doctors who applied at their GP or at any GP. They will make you do reception work and paperwork, and there may be a glimpse into the world of medicine. You could also try at a pharmacy. Good luck.

Want to be a doctor - what sort of work experience should I try to get?

We Answered:

My daughter just got accepted into a top rated medical school starting this fall. These are the steps she took to get there. Had a real passion for becoming a Doctor at an early age, took AP classes in High School, was in a program at High School called The Heart Academy, Went to a University that wasn't known for "fun" but was connected to the Medical University, Majored in Biology and other sciences, did a study under the direction of her professor on remembering eye witnesses and recollection during a line-up(?) Got a job at the local Veterans Hospital under what is called the STEP program (Students Temp Employment Program) - they (the VA) has to work around the students classes and activities for scheduling of work, did volunteering at the Medical Center in the care of which she is choosing to go into the medical field for and above all else - STUDY,STUDY,STUDY - yet HAVE fun!!! Hope this helps you on your quest!! I read some of the other answers first - some are just wanting 2 points- others had thoughtful answers. Good Luck and thank you for wanting to serve your fellow human beings in a Medical Way. Forgot to mention that quite a few Veteran Hospitals are linked to near by Medical Universities where they have programs for the younger Medical students to do residency and such.
