Help with an email asking about work experience?

We Answered:

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am inquiring to determine if the Widget Company participates in a work experience program for students. I am most interested in such a program if you do. I would be available blah, blah, blah and I would welcome an interview. If you do not participate in such a program, are you aware on any companies in the area that do? I anxiously await your reply.

Sincerely,

Your name

Help needed on wording an Email for work experience!?

We Answered:

Something like the below might work. Since I don't know your story, you may have much more to add. For example, if they had no paying positions now, would you consider working there as a volunteer?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>,

I'd like to introduce myself and express my interest in working in your Eventing Yard.

My name is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>. I've been interested in horses my whole life and wish to pursue a career in physiotherapy. I am >>>> years old and >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (tell your story).

Will you consider an interview with me?

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXXXXXX

What should i include in an email requesting work experience?

We Answered:

The simple answer is: your resume. Include an objective that matches the job that you are trying to get. If it's not for a specific job, then the objective should be aimed at the company.

You want to highlight your experience, training and strengths as you know them to match the company and/or job.

Use action words that you know to be relevant to the person/company you are sending them to.

And be honest about what you are looking for and can do. I'm a recruiter and sift through potential candidates daily. Those who "exaggerate" their abilities are readily exposed when I talk to them over the phone or in person. Good recruiters can identify this quickly and will stop your process.
