Work Experience In Hr

Jeffrey Said:

HR work experience vs degree?

We Answered:

Many businesses would gladly take someone with a masters degree and 1 yr of actual experience over someone with no masters degree and 5 years of experience. The masters degree shows you have mastered the subject and are capable of handling the job. If that wasn't enough, it shows you have a far better understanding of the concepts behind HR than someone who simply worked in the field.

Apply for the job. Who's it going to hurt? The worst that can happen is you won't get a reply.

Would a masters in HR Management pigeon-hole my career?

We Answered:

You wouldn't necessarily be pigeon-holed. You could work for a smaller company as a director or Site Manager and your HR skills will be pivotal but not limit you in your function as head of that small company.
