What about your local radio station?? Or any radio station?

They're more likely to be involved in the community as most radios support things like charities etc.

Try writing a letter and preferably giving it to the radio or company by hand, if you know of anyone in radio then perhaps get some sort of interview thing arranged. Really try to work your way into a placement.

Another suggestion in too go through your yellow pages and call up any recording studios near you, see if the company would be interested and try to speak to a manager or somebody other than a secretary. The higher you go the more likely you'll get a placement, my secretary never really passes messages onto me!
