Work Experience In Radio

Work experience in Radio.................................…

We Answered:

Hey there,

if you go to www.bbc.co.uk/jobs there's a work experience link down the side and there's loads on radio . As well have a look at www.mediauk.com it lists all the radio stations and you can have a look for some near you and give them a call.

Good luck :)

Albert Said:

work experience in radio or buisness at 15 ??

We Answered:

That's how I got my start. I called a radio station and asked if I could just sit it, then they put me on the air and, not long after, I was a part-time Disc Jockey. That's the way to do it. I would try to call a smaller station first, you'd have your best chance with one of those.

Adam Said:

Anyone know of radio stations or newspapers that do work experience?

We Answered:

I did a week with my local paper two years ago, it was brilliant! =] It was pretty much the only worthwhile thing I did in TY.
The Times, The Indo and so on are probably going to be difficult to get into unless you have connections or you sort it out well in advance. Same thing with any of the big radio stations.
Your best bet is to get in touch with your local papers and stations, they're usually happy to take people on. =]

Sidney Said:

So I want to do work experience for radio but...?

We Answered:

You might want to find out first if they'd take in an apprentice parttime. If not then I'd try any and all stations that you can and see if you can volunteer your time for experience.

Sometimes they will hire someone that is around all of the time and shows aptitude for a job.

You have to start somewhere, and first you need the experience, then worry about getting in at the station you'd prefer.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
