Work Experience Letter

Terrance Said:

What do i include in my work experience letter? Dont answer other question posted by me of the same title plz?

We Answered:

Describe the specifics of your experience in your resume'. Your letter would then offer a synopsis of your skills and what you can offer to the company.

What to include in my work experience letter?

We Answered:

I just did my work experience at a radio station. Make it clear what you are applying for (stupid I know but get to the point), write about a love for animals, etc (that should be easy), and then just a bit about any experience with animals- subjects at school, community work, pets. The last point is not super important, don't stress if you've got nothing. Just be clear, concise, not too formal and write as yourself. You should do fine.

what shall i write in my work experience letter?

We Answered:

hello,

i had the same problem.. i'm in year 10 and my work experience is obviously in April as well, i asked my sister (who is in year 11 now), what she wrote in her letter and she told me to go to this site which really helped her A LOT

elgg.learnblog.net/kiekopf/files/131/3… -

or you can use my advise

In the first paragraph, put a bit about yourself: your age, school, what you hope to be (if it's related to your work experience!)

In the second paragraph, put why you want to work there on work experience: its reputation, they cook the style of food you like, its what you want to do when you leave school etc.

Finally, write a closing paragraph thanking them for their time, and hoping that they will give you the opportunity to work there.

Don't make it hugely long: it should fit easily onto one side of A4 paper, and without havingto use 6 point type to get it to fit!! They don't want a book to read, and the manager is likely to be busy anyway. Print it out, don't hand-write it. You need to keep it short and sweet, in good, clear English with correct grammar and punctuation - if you're not sure, get someone to check it! I can't emphasise this enough: the amount of job applications I get that are illiterate or illegible is amazing, and why would I hire someone who can't spell, and can't be bothered to check?

What should I write for my work experience letter?

We Answered:

Right, you should begin with a few lines summarising why you're writing to them e.g. I am currently in year 10... bla bla bla

The most important piece of advice I would give you is that you need to make it very clear to these people how much you want the placement so the majority of the letter should be about why you want to do it/what you think you would gain from it etc.

If you do know what you want to be when you're older, include it and say how you think this particular work experience placement would be relevant to that. Even if you only have vague ideas about your future career, tell them about it and make it relevant to the placement.

You should ooze enthusiasm as nobody will choose someone who sounds as though they are only applying because they have to. Make yourself stand out, maybe put in things you do outside of school/extra curriculars which could be relevant to the placement/provide you with skills which are relevant to it. Maybe give your elective subjects if you feel they are relevant to the placement.

Also, make sure your letter is typed up neatly and correctly, with justified text, correct spelling etc. and is in the style of a formal letter i.e. addresses in the right place etc. (First impressions are v.important)

Remember, the letter should be formal, but not boring.

I hope this helps :) Good luck with your application
