Work Experience New York

Judith Said:

How does subletting work? (New York City)?

We Answered:

There are summer sublets, the rental market is highly liquid Think in terms of student accommodation and check at Columbia and around NYU if you know anyone with access to those notice boards.

You will not necessarily need a co-signer. Craigslist is also a good source.

Wait till you are in NY. Be flexible, be prepared to sign and pay on the spot if you like what you see as stuff goes in less than 12 hours. If you ask them to wait while you get your sharer over, you will lose the place.

Jerry Said:

I would like to experience working in New York for a few months, how do I do it?

We Answered:

Just get to New York and go to every restaurant and tell them you are willing to wash dishes. Today. You can get the media industry job later. A hotel room will be $129 for a tiny tiny room in an old building. Ask if you can sleep in the restaurant for a few nights.... like a night watchman.

Work experience in new york?

We Answered:

You may be a bit young for climbing the corporate ladder. There are a lot of non-profit and volunteer opportunities here though! I'd check with local community centers and your school guidance counselor. Good luck!

Billy Said:

wanna do MBA in Columbia or stern univ in new york through GMAT.how much work experience & gmat score required

We Answered:

They will take a couple of students without work experience each year, but those students do not really get as much out of the programs as people with experience.

If you are going fulltime, then try columbia over stern (I graduated stern, they are too concerned about stupid things like grad inflation, and you will graduated with an artificially LOWER GPA since they only give 10%-15% A's in finance& required classes).

I think 80% of stern students have between 640 and 740 on the GMATs
